(Note: The "Vysota" who wrote the acoustic guitar song you see on Deezer and iHeartMusic is not me, that is someone who releeased one song under "высота" and then their systems therefore mistook it as the same Vysota/DJ Vysota as me. All my songs are also viewable from Releases and if a song is delayed I will post on announcements.)

Who is DJ Vysota?
I am DJ Vysota also known as Rt. Rev. Elliot Esch, a German-American DJ and Producer from Colmesneil, Texas. I am also a session drummer. My production work spans Deep House, Acid House (live), Progressive House, Melodic Dubstep, Atmospheric Dungeon Synth, Hardbass (live), and Techno. I am also an archbishop in the Orthodox Church of Texas, though I do not use my current artistic platform to preach. I also am CEO of an independent record label called Vysota Records. I come from lineage of Irish, Norwegian, German, and Ukrainian, a lineage of hard-working people. I call myself either German-American or Norwegian-American.
What inspired the name?
"Vysota" (высота or висота) in Belarusian means "Uplift" or "Elevation". The name reflects elevation, both in sound and in mindset. It represents rising above trends, pushing boundaries, and creating music that feels expansive and hypnotic. I first used the name DJ Vysota in August of 2025 when I was making Daft Punk remixes. I used both names DaftAc1d and DJ Vysota, but eventually started using just DJ Vysota, and then Vysota for uploading.
How did you get started in music?
I began as a drummer, and I also played bass guitar. I then started playing live as a session drummer. I also have experience playing the pipe organ and the synthesizer, and I have released a few Dungeon Synth tracks such as Decouvert and Altersteinort.
Origin of DJ Vysota
My journey into electronic music began with three tracks that defined an era for me: “Bangarang” by Skrillex, “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, and Daft Punk’s “Around the World.” Those songs opened the door, but everything changed when I discovered Alive 2007, Skrillex’s More Monsters and Sprites EP, and Yves V’s Arising of Life set from Tomorrowland. That combination of energy, storytelling, and sonic world‑building pushed me to pursue electronic production seriously.
I downloaded Serato and Ableton Live and began teaching myself the fundamentals of DJing and production. My first live performance took place on July 4th, 2025, at Lake Syracuse, NY, where I played dubstep on a Numark controller through a Harbinger PA system. Dropping heavy bass under a sky full of fireworks was the moment I knew I wanted to build a career in this world.
Back home, I dove deeper into production, using MIDI from an Alesis digital piano to compose early ideas in Ableton. Everything accelerated when I received a Behringer TD‑3 for my birthday — a gift that sparked my first Acid House experiments. I recorded directly from my Harbinger PA into my computer, capturing the raw, hardware‑driven sound that would later become part of my signature. The TD‑3 appears on several early tracks, including my Close Encounters remix and my original tracks Orkeste, Shift, and Wreckage.
I initially released music under the alias Daft Ac1d, uploading Daft Punk remixes and early experiments. Eventually, I transitioned fully into the identity of Vysota for production and DJ Vysota for performances. Around this time, I rebranded my SoundCloud from my former black metal project, Krigsmann, to reflect my new direction in electronic music.
With Christmas savings, I upgraded my setup to a Pioneer DJ DDJ‑REV1 controller and Peavey PR15 PA speakers, and I added an audio interface gifted by my cousin Patrick. I still use my Numark headphones from the Party Mix Live controller, alongside a pair of Audio-Technica headphones. I explored turntablism with my friend's Technics and Pioneer setup briefly before relocating, and I continue to expand my studio gear as my sound evolves.
After struggling to find a label that resonated with my demos, I founded Vysota Records — a home for artists pushing underground hard techno, acid techno, dubstep, tech house, and hardstyle. The label exists to champion raw, hardware‑driven, high‑energy electronic music and to give a platform to creators who share that vision.
More updates on my artistic journey and label developments will be posted on the Announcements page as Vysota Records continues to grow.
My current signature sound comes from my influences from dubstep, riddim, hardtekk, hardacid (hardbass combined with hard acid techno), progressive house, deep techno, and big room. You can hear individual sound influences or combinations in each and every one of my track.
